Kelly Murdock has been involved with more computer books than he cares to count—so many that he gets very nostalgic when visiting the computer book section of the bookstore. His book credits include a host of Web, graphics, and multimedia titles, including three editions of 3ds max Bible, Adobe Atmosphere Bible, Master HTML and XHTML Visually, JavaScript Blueprints, and co-authoring two editions of Illustrator Bible. Kelly also co-authored Laura Lemay’s Web Workshop: 3D Graphics and VRML 2 at a time when we all thought VRML was going somewhere.
With a background in engineering and computer graphics, Kelly has been all over the 3D industry from high-level CAD workstations and large-scale visualization projects to creating 3D models for feature films, working as a freelance 3D artist, and even some 3D programming.

Felix Hufeld is President of the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) and member of the Supervisory Board of the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) for the banks of the Eurozone. Prior to this he worked for Dresdner Bank as their Global Head Group Corporate Development, and for The Boston Consulting Group (BCG). He studied Law in Freiburg and received a Master in Public Administration at Harvard University.

Ralph S. J. Koijen is a Professor of Finance at London Business School. His areas of expertise are health and insurance markets, investments, and financial econometrics. He is also a Research Fellow of the CEPR and Netspar. Before joining London Business School, he was visiting Assistant Professor of Finance at New York University's Stern School of Business, and an Assistant and Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business. Professor Koijen's research has been published in leading journals, such as Econometrica, the American Economic Review, The Journal of Finance, the Review of Financial Studies, and the Journal of Financial Economics. Christian Thimann is AXA's Group Head of Regulation, Sustainability and Insurance Foresight, based in Paris. From 2014-16 he has been on the Board of Directors of AXA Investment Managers and Alliance Bernstein Investment Managers, New York. I had to buy this book for a class I was taking in college and didn't think much of at the time. After having some time to read through it later I found it is full of very helpful concepts and priceless information to anyone looking to get into color photography. Unfortunately color film is a dying process, but none the less this is an excellent manual and useful even in the digital world we live in.

As a very amateur photographer, I'm trying to learn more about color theory. This wasn't what I was looking for. It is more of a book on color photography. I was looking for instruction on how colors interact with each other and the what they mean in an image.

Henry Horenstein, author of BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOGRAPHY: A BASIC MANUAL, a book often used as a photography text book, has a similar book on color photography. COLOR PHOTOGRAPHY: A WORKING MANUAL offers the same excellent how-to information provide in the black and white counterpart. The book contains many of Horenstein's excellent photographs and offers information regarding filters and developing color prints. While it contains some information on color transparencies (slides), it is somewhat scant and may in the long run be more helpful for printmakers. At a time when digital photography is all the rage, this book is not obsolete since Horenstein's expertise will help ant photographer, no matter what the medium.

This book is well-written and lavishly illustrated with good-quality color photographs from a number of well-known contemporary photographers. The basic physics of color theory and color perception are well laid out. The text and explanations are easy to follow, even for a novice. Having taught color photography for a number of years, in the US and in France and Italy, I have found that this text to be the most consistently useful for my students.

Hussein Al-Bahadili received his B.Sc degree in Engineering from College of Engineering (University of Baghdad, Iraq) in 1986. He received his M.Sc and PhD degrees in Engineering from Queen Mary College (University of London, UK) in 1988 and 1991, respectively. His field of study was parallel computers. He is currently working as an Associate Professor at Petra University, Jordan. He is a visiting researcher at the Wireless Networks and Communications Centre (WNCC) at the University of Brunel, UK. He is also a visiting researcher at the School of Engineering, University of Surrey, UK. He has published many papers and book chapters in different fields of science and engineering in numerous leading scholarly and practitioner journals, books, and presented at leading world-level scholarly conferences. His research interests include parallel and distributed computing, wireless communications, computer networks, cryptography and network security, data compression, image processing, and artificial intelligence and expert systems.
